Originally from Massachusetts, John spent childhood summers on Cape Cod where his love of traditional building forms, materials, and craftsmanship began. His early experiences on the Cape established a passion for creating timeless residential architecture where families can build generations of memories. Initially, John earned his degree in Building Construction at Wentworth Institute and pursued a career as a builder until a unique travel opportunity came his way. He spent several years crewing on yachts while exploring the architectural and cultural heritage of the South Pacific. On his return to the United States, he studied art at the Rhode Island College and completed his architectural degree at Cornell University. After graduation, John practiced residential architecture and urban planning in Switzerland, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York before joining SRW in 1996. He became a principal in 2006 and brings his synthesis of classical training and years of construction management to help clients create homes of exceptional beauty and enduring craftsmanship. He is licensed to practice architecture in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Utah. When not at the office, John divides his time between his home in Madison, CT and New York, and with his wife enjoys culinary and cultural offerings around the world.
